Choosing your kettle

Red electric kettle

In today’s market place there is so much choice it can be difficult to know where to start. Long gone are the days of all kettles being boring stainless steel items hidden in the corner. Modern kettles range from the classic stove top items to incredibly stylish and even "intelligent" electric kettles.

What does your kitchen look like?

The first and probably most important question to ask yourself when deciding on a new kettle is, what style am I looking for? The driving factor behind this that you won’t want to put a modern glowing electric kettle in the middle of a farmhouse kitchen complete with Aga. Similarly an old-fashioned stove kettle sat atop a modern induction hob looks equally out of place.

What colours do you have in your kitchen?

Think about colour in combination with the style of kitchen and property, for example a cream coloured farmhouse kitchen would probably look best with a cream traditional style kettle, whereas in a modern property a bright red gloss kettle might be just what is called for to make the most of the space.

Be Bold

A bright kettle can make a huge difference to your kitchen, turning a once dark corner into a talking point amongst your friends.

Above all

Choose a kettle you like, whether it’s a red kettle, a stove kettle or just a nice chrome kettle; buy something that you’re happy to use. After all you’re going to be using it so many times a day that your decision will annoy you if you don’t get it right.
